1. Light
Scutellaria barbata prefers a sunny environment, but can also adapt to partial shade. The best growing environment is 4-6 hours of sunlight per day. If planted in a shaded place, it may cause the plant to grow slowly.
2. Temperature
It likes a warm and humid environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-30°C. Too low temperatures may affect its growth, especially when it is below 10°C. Cold protection measures need to be taken during low temperatures in winter.
3. Soil
Scutellaria barbata does not require high soil requirements, but it is best to have well-drained, organic-rich loam or sandy loam. The pH value of the soil should be between 6.0 and 7.5, that is, slightly acidic to neutral soil is most suitable.
4. Water
It likes a humid environment, but it is not tolerant of waterlogging. Keep the soil slightly moist and avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. During the growing season, regular watering is required to keep the soil moist, but good drainage must be ensured.
5. Fertilization
Scutellaria barbata needs the right amount of nutrients, especially during the growing season.
